Hotel Galvez and Spa: Haunted History

Hotel Galvez was nicknamed the ‘Playground of the Southwest’ for it’s socialite guests. Famous US presidents like Franklin D Roosevelt, and Lyndon B Johnson have stayed here as well as big named celebrities like Frank Sinatra! Legend says that a 25 year old bride to be was staying in room 501 when tragedy struck her. Her fiancé was a mariner who sailed in and out of the Port of Galveston, and one day his ship didn’t return. She received word that his ship went under and all lives were lost. She eventually hung herself on the roof of the hotel only for her fiancé to return to Galveston a few days later. There are countless guest reviews of them experiencing strange things happening in their room. They say the most haunted room of all is 501 where the bride to be stayed during her time at the hotel.
